Digital India is a
blockbuster three-pronged programme for empowerment of masses launched on
July1,2015 by prime minister Mr:Narendra Modi. This launch has been a great hit
with common people as well as the top companies. It is likely to generate 18
lakh jobs and India will march towards IT revolution. Modi government has done
a very prudent job by embarking on Digital India, as it is a three pronged
programme- to build infrastructure and access, to deliver services
electronically and to increase digital literacy.
It is considered by all as a
dream project of Mr. Modi, as he wants to take a larger initiative to digitally
empower people and extend services in a better manner with the use of
Information Technology and its tools. Mr. Modi said that the “Digital India”
campaign would see an investment of Rs.4.5 lakh crore and jobs for at least 18
lakh people as the country moved from “e-governance to m-governance”.
The main advantages of Digital
India are, it will ease service delivery, reduce corruption, remove asymmetries
of information, boost e-commerce and economic activity, and make governance
participatory.
